Poor Haiti: Wreaked by Its Own Bureaucracy and Brute of Imperialism.

After 212 years of independence, today, in Haiti, most of its infrastructure functioned in a primitive modality, and furthermore, even the result of a simply democratic-presidential election cannot be held peacefully and credibly. Is not this an absolute disgrace?

In all this, three important questions supposedly need to be asked and also deserve to be elaborated on thoroughly:

How could successful development and function of infrastructures prevail in Haiti, meanwhile the country it is subordinated by, brutal imperialism of the United States, is careless to it and has no meaningful interests whatsoever in it?

How could democracy function properly or be successful in Haiti that is dominated by brutal imperialism of the United States, which democracy only exists and practices in its own territory, but internationally it always presents itself as an advocator of democracy, and in fact, it is always the contrary of democracy?

And additionally, how could successful democracy and development and function of infrastructures prevail in Haiti, which was born along with its corruptly bureaucratic system?

The heavy corruption in the Haitian bureaucracy has become a doctrine. And it is in this realm of doctrinal corruption all Haiti’s underdeveloped infrastructure and governmental and political instabilities, calamity, burden and misery are laid, since the time of its birth to the present time.

Most of the time, the lacks of selves’ interests and or opportunities are the main factors that cause certain Haitians have taken positions to strongly criticize the bureaucratic corruption that exists in any current Haiti’s government.

For the most part, such criticizing has never been based upon a heartily patriotic or nationalistic manner. For instance, it is as though most of those particular Haitian criticizers have been crying for being missed the opportunities of good fortunes.

Somehow in reality, they have been crying for being missed the opportunities of good fortunes on the pretexts of being heartily patriotic or nationalistic Haitians. However, deeply in their hearts, they are just being ironic toward Haiti and the majority Haitians that live in dense poverty in Haiti.

In fact, if tomorrow lucky breaks could have come forth in those particular Haitian criticizers’ lives, they would become leaders or officials in the Haiti’s government, they would scheme Haiti’s bureaucracy, just as the all past and present corrupt Haitian leaders or officials had/have been doing.

Furthermore and emphatically, Haiti has been under the dominance of brutal imperialism of the United States since 1915. Meaning, ever since the post period of invasion or occupation, in 1934, the dominance of the United States toward Haiti has been strengthened day by day

It is the United States that pivots the banking, political and governmental systems of Haiti (institutional systems). The United States has been fully aware of the heavy corruption that exists in the Haitian system of bureaucracy.

But the reality, the United States has no need to serve as an astuteness, so as to help ceasing the heavy corruption in the Haitian bureaucracy. In another term, it indirectly empowers the corruptionists in the Haitian bureaucracy…

The forbearance of the United States on heavy corruption in the Haitian bureaucracy has been served as a proxy for its imperialism along with its imperial allies, so as to control, manipulate and sabotage Haiti’s institutional systems, whenever it wants to...

On whatever occasion the imperial United States wants to carry out a manipulation or sabotage in the Haiti’s institutional systems in the interest of its diplomatic relations with Haiti, it always passes through Haiti’s heavily corrupt bureaucracy to achieve the goals of its diplomatic interests.

The minimally patriotic Haitians in poor Haiti have two options to set Haiti free from this daily calamity and living hell that the imperial United States and Haitian bureaucracy have created within it for over two centuries:

Either by the group sectors that control the educational, economical and political systems have heartily recollected their consciousness toward Haiti’s dense poverty or by the rise of a cultural revolution through a nationalistic leader along with the followers of that leader… And emphatically, these two options are not impossible to turn into realities in the Haitian society.

If the sectors that control Haiti’s educational, economical and political systems take the Cuban leaders, Fidel and Raroul Castro, as instances, in terms of being true Cuban patriots, which propel them to always combatting and resisting the influence of and any conspiracy by imperialism against the Cuban government, they can combat and resist the influence of and any conspiracy by imperialism against the Haitian government as well…

Furthermore, in Haiti, if the sectors that monopolize the domains of educations, economics and politics take their neighbor, the Dominican Republic, has an instance, in terms of how the Dominican politicians and citizens are so patriotic toward their country, heavy corruption in the Haitian bureaucracy can be ameliorated or ceased to exist, someday.

The calamity, burden and misery of Haiti derive from the sectors that monopolize the sectors of educations, economics and politics within it. The majority members of such sectors are extremely corrupt and wicked Haitians.

So as those particular Haitians are the creators of Haiti’s daily pain and destruction, thereby they are the ones, if they recollect their conscience toward the depraved state of Haiti, who can cure, convert and construct Haiti into the realm of progress…

Pòv Ayiti: Domaje Pa Pwòp Sistèm Biwokratik Li ak Enpeyalis Brital

(Tradiksyon an Kreyòl Ayisyen an fèt pa Luders Allen.)

Aprè 212 zan endepandans, jodia, nan peyi Ayiti, tout enfrastikti li fonksyone primitivman, ak an plis de sa, menm on senp rezilta eleksyon prezidansyèl pa menm kapab fèt nan yon jan pasifikman ak kredibilite.

Kòman demokrasi ta fè fonksyone byen ou byen avèk siksè an Ayiti ki domine pa enpeyalis peyi Etazini, ki sèlman pratike demokrasi lakay li, sepandan an deyò lakay li li toujou ap demontre l-ap defan demokrasi, men an reyalite, li kont demokrasi a?

Ak anplis de sa, kòman pou demokrasi ak devlopman enfrastikti ta fonksyone byen ak ta pote viktwa an Ayiti ki yon peyi ki te pran nesans li ansanm avèk koripsyon lou nan sistèm biwokratik li?

Koripsyon lou vin on doktrin an dedan sistèm biwokratik peyi Ayiti a.

An reyalite, si demen lavi a pote bon chans nan vi majorite Ayisyen sa yo k-ap kritike a, yo vin prezidan ou byen ofisyèl sou yon gouvènman an Ayiti, y-ap fè kont konplo yo nan biwokrasi Ayiti a, menm jan tankou tout ansyen ak prezan prezidan ak ofisyèl koronpi yo te konn ap fè ou byen ap fè a.

An plis de sa ak anfazman, peyi Ayiti sou dominasyon peyi brital enpeyalis Etazini depi an 1915. Sa vle di, depi aprè peryòd envazyon an ou byen okipasyon an, an 1934, dominans peyi enpeyalis Etazini sou peyi Ayiti vin pi ranfòse de jou an jou…

Se peyi enpeyalis Etazini ki vin ap kontrole sistèm bank, politik ak gouvènman an dedan peyi Ayiti (sistèm enstitisyon yo). Etazini konplètman okouran de koripsyon lou sa yo ki ekziste nan sistèm biwokrasi Ayisyen an.

Sepandan, li pa genyen okenn bezwen ak enterè pou-l ta jwe on ròl poto-mitan pou ta kapab vin genyen on fen nan koripsyon lou sila yo. Nan on lòt jan pou mete-l: li endirèkteman ankouraje ak bay koripsyonis yo pouvwa an dedan sistèm biwokrasi Ayisyen an.

Tolerans peyi Etazini sou koripsyon lou an dedan sistèm biwokrasi Ayisyen an vin sanse sèvi kankou on prokirasyon (on poto mitan) pou enpeyalis Etazini ansanm avèk lòt alye peyi enpeyalis parèy li yo, son fason pou li menm ansanm avèk alye li yo kapab kontrole, manipile ak sabotaj sistèm enstitisyon peyi Ayiti a, nenpòt lè yo vle.

Sou nenpòt okazyon peyi enpeyalis Etazini vle pote sòti yon manipilasyon ou byen sabotaj an dedan sistèm enstitisyon peyi Ayiti pou defann enterè relasyon diplomatik li genyen avèk peyi Ayiti, li toujou pase pa an dedan koripsyon lou sa ki ekziste nan sistèm biwokratik Ayisyen an pou-l reyalize objektif ki nan enterè li yo.

Ti gwoup Ayisyen patriyotik an dedan pòv peyi Ayiti (ak eksteryè peyi Ayiti) genyen 2 chwa pou yo ta kapab delibere pòv peyi Ayiti nan penitans ak lanfè sa l-ap viv chak jou a peyi Etazini ak biwokrasi Ayisyen an kreye ladann nan depi plis ke 2 syèk la:

Se swa gwoup sektè sa yo ki kontrole sistèm edikasyon an, sistèm ekonomik lan ak sistèm politik la ta kapap pran konsyans patriyotik ou byen nayonalis an favè peyi Ayiti ou byen nesans on revolisyon kiltirèl de yon lidè nasyonalis ou byen patriyotik ansanm avèk moun k-ap swiv lidè sa. Men, 2 chwa sa yo pa enposib pou yo ta vin on reyalite nan sosyete Ayisyen an.

Si sektè sa yo ki kontrole sistèm edikasyon an, ekonomik lan ak politik la pran 2 lidè Kiben sa yo, Fidel ak Raroul Castro, kòm ekzanp lidè santiman patriyotik yo an favè Kiba toujou ap pouse yo pou yo konbat ak reziste enfliyans ak konspirasi enpeyalis kont gouvènman Kiben an, kidonk jan de Ayisyen sa yo ta kapab eksprime santiman patriyotik yo tou an favè peyi Ayiti pou yo ta kapab konbat ak reziste enfliyans ak konspirasi enpeyalis kont nenpòt gouvènman Ayisyen ki nan enterè peyi Ayiti…

Pou ale pi lwen, si sektè sa yo ki monopolize domèn edikasyon an, ekonomi an ak politik la an Ayiti ta pran vwazen yo, Repiblik Dominikèn, kòm on ekzanp nan domèn nan jan sitwayen ak politisyen Dominiken trè patriyotik an favè peyi yo, koripsyon lou an dedan sistèm biwokratik Ayiti a t-ap amelyore ou byen on jou li pa t-ap ekziste ankò.

Kalamite, chay ak lamizè peyi Ayiti sòti an dedan sektè sa yo ki monopolize edikasyon an, ekonomi an ak politik la. Majorite Ayisyen ki fè pati nan sektè sa yo yo ekstrèmman koronpi ak mechan.

Konsa, kòm se jan de Ayisyen sa yo ki kreyatè lapèn ak destriksyon chak jou a nan peyi Ayiti, pa konsekans se menm yo menm nan si yo vin pran konsyans k-ap kapab geri, konvèti ak konstwi peyi Ayiti nan on domèn de pwogrè…

…Comparing Renee Zellweger’s Past-Physical Appearance to the Present One

On October 20, 2014, Renee Zellweger, actress, producer and voice artist, attended the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards. And since that time she has become the aim of the media in a very critical way.

Her photos have been appearing on TVs, Newspapers and Social Websites. People have been talking critically about her present look. And users of many social websites have been posting her photos and writing critical comments: by comparing her past-physical appearance to the present one.

People have been making lots of animadversions, in any form, on her present-physical appearance. They find that she does not look as attractive as she used to. Apparently, those people that are making those severe criticisms on her present-physical appearance have a profound misconception about human’s aging process, in life.

As it is commonly known: natural aging process is unavoidable, in an individual’s life span. Meantime, it reduces gradually the strength and physical beauty of that individual.

As time goes by and that individual is getting older, certain active organs in his or her bodily system become to work slower thereby affect the skin and make it look thinner and drier. This facticity of aging process has slowly taken away that individual’s strength and physical beauty…

Notwithstanding, there are only two ways to combat the appearance of oldness, i.e., by exercising and eating healthily and also by practicing a medical term, which is called ‘Extrinsic Aging’.

‘Extrinsic Aging’ means: by taking medications and by going through dermatological surgery or surgeries. Emphatically, practicing ‘Extrinsic Aging’ is very risky. It can result to crippling or death. The best way to go along with natural aging process is by exercising and eating healthily.

The reality is, even though both ways are being practiced, natural aging process is still going to play a dominant role on an individual’s strength and physical beauty. As it is natural and becomes unavoidably, it therefore surpasses human’s ability to manage it. As a result of that, no individual can beat it…

Perhaps, in the case of Renee Zellweger, she may not believe in practicing ‘Extrinsic Aging’ method. Consequently, she prefers to get old naturally (there’s nothing wrong about that and it’s wonderful).

In addition, she may have been going through personal difficulties or medical issues in her life and these affect her natural aging process quicker. And she has kept her personal matters privately, away from the media…

Stressfully, certain people are carried out natural aging process differently than others. This depends upon their bodily systems and life’s experiences…

Certain people appear to look much younger than their actual ages, when they are getting old. And certain people appear to look older than their actual ages, when they are getting old.

In fact, it is clearly evident to see and realize how people in the American society (if not in the world) obsess with human’s physical beauty. In the intense term of life, physical beauty is just an illusion.

For instance, there are so many things, such as accident, infirmity, chronic illness, medical situations and many more that can happen in just seconds to an individual and take away that individual’s physical beauty.

Those people that are making animadversions, in any form, upon Renee Zellweger’s natural aging process (or on any individual’s natural aging process) show no compassion toward life, natural aging process, getting old and or being old…

Life has much more to offer than human’s physical beauty… As stated previously, human’s physical beauty is just a deceptive appearance…

Criminal Biases Toward Black People, Especially Black Men

No one in life knows you to a greater extent than 'God', yourself, your family and the few that are close to you... Sometimes, cold-hearted and ignorant individuals have failed out to discover the beauties that are within you. For without any adequate judgment, they prejudge and dehumanize you by all sorts of means.

Don't let individuals' cold-heartedness and ignorance aggravate and reign upon you. If you do, you have just contaminated yourself with harm. Do not ever deviate from the beauties you possess within you, because being the way you are is a gift from 'God'.  Always recollect the real you and be strong. Hence, the 'Almighty God' will pass judgment on your behalf...

Although many Blacks have continued to make progress in the American mainstream and gradual improvement on racial discrimination and race relations continue to be made, however, black people are still the targets of criminal stereotypes in every corner in the American society, especially black men.

The way the American society negatively portrays black people in most social aspects has played important roles that cause Blacks to be the primary targets of criminal stereotypes. A media and law enforcement that are always ready to widely expose the wrongnesses and crimes of Blacks and tactfully and politically expose the wrongnesses and crimes of Whites, of course, these biases toward Blacks are enough to destroy the decencies and ethics of the innocent Blacks that have nothing to do with criminal lifestyles.

Therefore, biases from the media and law enforcement make most people that are not members of the black race view Blacks negatively—even certain black folks. "Black skin has more dehumanizing stereotypes associated with it than any other skin color in America, if not the world" (Steele 43).

Many people believe that black men involve in violent crimes and get arrested for them at greater rates than any other racial groups—even Law Enforcement Crime Statistics supports such bias ("Criminal stereotype of African Americans"). Meantime, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, from 1980 to 2008, 53.3 % of gang crimes were committed by white gang members and the victims were 56.5 % Whites (Azrael).

When the Bureau of Justice Statistics collected homicidal rates from 1980 to 2008, it found that white criminals were more likely to be serial killers, to kill children, elderlies and family members and to commit mass murders at their employment's environments and commit more white-collar crimes (Azrael).

Society portrays young Blacks as heavy drug users and sellers. Meantime, recent studies constantly demonstrate that they are less likely to use and sell drugs than young Whites (Alexander cited in Whitaker). Nevertheless, young Blacks are sentenced for using drugs 10 times more than the rates of young Whites. In addition, they served at least almost 5 years in prison for drug offenses, whereas Whites served 5 years or less in prison for violent offenses ("Criminal Justice Fact Sheet").

Huffington's studies and research reported, 70% of drug users are Whites and 14% are Blacks, whereas Blacks make 74% of the prison system's population for drug offenses. And drug addiction is considered as a disease, according to National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). What is the logical reason behind this: people are punished and served long prison terms for being sick? Meantime, drug addict Whites are less likely to serve prison terms. Instead, they are sent to drug rehabilitation programs. Blacks sent to drug rehabilitation programs after being served their long prison terms.

In the United States, Blacks are profiled, arrested and incarcerated more than white suspects who commit the same offenses ("Criminal Stereotype of African Americans"). In federal prisons, the length time of Blacks' convictions is 60% longer than Whites who commit the same offenses and 20% longer in State prisons ("Criminal Stereotype of African Americans"). Blacks' over charging convictions are due to racial discrimination, according to some academic sources.

Based upon these criminal-stereotyped biases toward Blacks, this is why most white criminals can be judged and perceived as the most trusted individuals in the American society (if it is not in the world). Thereby these mind concepts or beliefs that don't accurately reflect reality, which always create easy ways for criminal Whites to successfully perpetrate and smoothly operate their criminal activities thus take a long time before they get caught, or not caught at all.

Hence, criminals of other races or ethnicities frequently use these forms of criminal stereotypes as scapegoats in order to fabricate or perpetrate their crimes and thereafter accuse Blacks to cover up their crimes or take Blacks as suspects to cover up their crimes, especially black men. These forms of fabrications, perpetrations and conceptions are performed in every environment in the American society.

For instance, on October 25, 1994, Susan Leigh Vaughan Smith, a white South Carolinian, murdered her two sons, by plunging her car into the lake and drowning them inside of it. And thereafter she reported to the Police: a black man carjacked her car and drove away with her two sons (Susan Smith). For about 9 days, she had made mimic acts on national television for the rescue and return of her children. After an intense investigation and nationwide search, on November 3, 1994, she eventually confessed to the Police and let them know that she killed her sons by rolling her car into the lake, while her two sons were inside of the car and drowned (Susan Smith).

Her defense attorneys asserted that she suffered with mental health issues, which somehow impaired her judgment (Susan Smith). Indeed, her defense attorneys were absolutely right. If she were not insane, she would have never reached to a point from which to murder her two children, by one of the most gruesome murders. However, after committing the crimes, her common senses were not impaired to prevent her from fabricating such story (i.e., a black man carjacked her car and drove away with her two sons).

Her action of criminality clearly demonstrated that criminal biases toward Blacks are very serious issues in the American society. Despite being suffered with mental impairment, but this didn't deviate and distract her rationality from fabricating a story, in which accusing a black man carjacked her car along with her two sons, so as to hide her crimes in pretending of being innocent. It is clearly evident that the way the media and law enforcement portray black people negatively, especially black men, inspired her to fabricate such story. In her impairable mind, she already knew 98% of chance people would believe in her fake story.

Another instance, it is clearly evident the arrest of Harvard University Professor, Henry Louis Gate Jr., was based on criminal stereotypes. On July 16, 2009, Professor Gate Jr. arrived home from China, after conducting a research on Yo-Yo Ma for "Faces of America." His house's front door was jammed and could not open. Eventually he decided to enter into the house by the back door. While inside of his house, him and his driver were trying to open the front door, a neighbor saw the activities, called 911 and reported to the Police: two black men were in a process of burglary, in trying to break into a house (Henry Louis Gates Arrest Controversy).

When the Police officer, Sgt. James Crowley, came, he found Professor Gate Jr. inside the house and asked him for his identification. Professor Gate Jr. proceeded on his request by showing to him two identifications: his driver's license and Harvard University Professor ID Card (Henry Louis Gates Arrest Controversy). In addition, the house belongs to Harvard University and Professor Gates Jr. lives/lived there.

Professor Gates Jr. was upset by the scenario and said to the Police officer how come he had failed out to recognize him... His question to the Police officer led into word exchanges... Eventually the Police officer, Sgt James Crowley, arrested him, due to disorderly conduct. In fact, the arrest was needless. He showed to the Police officer two identifications (i.e., his driver's license and Harvard University Professor ID). He had his full right to be upset.

The question that needs to be asked and also required a briefly thorough analysis. How come the Police officer had failed out to recognize Professor Gates Jr., a very well known figure in the American society? He is on television all the times: hosting social studies and race relation documentaries and also wrote many books.

The third instance is, during the year 2013, due to high volumes of shopliftings and credit card frauds at Barneys and Macy's department stores, especially at Barney's, in New York City, Security Personnels said that they had been ordered by administrations to take chances in stopping suspicious customers, even if innocent people found themselves in the intercepting. So such routine security strategy was a part of their jobs.

Somehow, it happened to be all customers who found themselves being the suspects of shopliftings or credit card frauds were Blacks upper, upper middle, middle and working classes, who had nothing to do with criminal lifestyles, after being searched by the Security Personnels and Police Officers or innocently arrested by the Police Officers, among them few famous black musicians and athletes as well (Goodman).

Here are two instances about the suspects of shoplifting and credit card fraud crisis at Barney's (i.e., two young black shoppers at Barney's, Trayon Christian, 19 years old and Kayla Phillips, 21 years old).

On April 28, 2013, Kayla, a Brooklyn resident Nursing student, purchased a handbag at Barney's cost over $2,000.00. She said there were no issues during the paying transaction (Green). After exiting the store on her way home, at the subway station, four NYC Police officers stopped, frisked, searched and detained her (Green). After the police found out the purchase was legitimate, they let her go (Green).

And on April 29, 2013, Trayon was accused of using a fake Chase debit card, after buying a Salvatore Ferragamo belt at Barney's for $350.00 with his Chase debit card. He said, several blocks away on Fifth Avenue, four NYC Police officers stopped him. The Police officers said to him the Chase debit card must have been a fake debit card. The Police handcuffed, arrested and took him to the 19th Precinct. After being held for about two hours, they released him. The Police didn't find any evidence to convict him, because the Chase debit card belonged to him (Goodman).

Currently, Trayon has filed two lawsuits: one against Barney's and the other against NYC Police Department, in State Supreme Court. And Kayla Phillips sues Barney's and New York City Police Department as well.

Criminal biases toward Blacks are genuine in the American society. This is not to say there are not criminal Blacks or an approach to defend, support and tolerate criminal Blacks. Not at all. Of course, there are criminal Blacks and Blacks who commit crimes must be punished, if found guilty before the law. But, when fabricating false information, accusing or taking innocent individuals as suspects of crimes based upon their skinned color (i.e.,black), without having any such concrete evidences, this is what they're so called 'injustice, malevolence, devilish act and racial hoaxes'.

People must understand that criminality is color-blind, when it comes to its perpetrators or practitioners. Members of all races or ethnicities commit crimes. And criminals are not solely found in one particular or specific race or ethnicity, but in all races and ethnicities, without exception...

Becoming Notorious Criminals Because of Poverty, Claiming to Be Revolutionaries or Becoming Notorious Criminals Based on Free Will?

Luders Allen

Since after the removal of former President Jean Bertrand Aristide from power, in 2004, Kidnapping for ransom has become the most popular crime in Haiti (now, this crisis is a little bit down due to Haitian authorities that are targeting and hunting the kidnappers). The Duvalierists claim that the kidnappers are Aristide's supporters. Meantime, individuals of all social classes involve in the kidnapping crimes. As the masterminds of such crisis are always the individuals of highly social status and the executioners are ordinary individuals, when the executioners are caught by authorities, as defense, they always claim that their involvements in the kidnapping crimes and some other crimes are due to poverty and against the social system, therefore they have to find a way to survive.

Indeed, poverty is one of the factors, in any society, that propels certain individuals that are lack of strength, self-esteem, integrity, dignity and pride to live criminal lifestyles. However, poverty does not make rational individuals living criminal lifestyles. Rational individuals that live in poverty panhandle, seek for help by any means to change their lives around, become revolutionaries, activists or rebels to bring changes within their societies.

For instance, there are no mistreatments and crimes in human's existence that can be compared to the mistreatments and crimes, which were practiced on the slaves during slavery system, in San Domingo that is now the Republic of Haiti in the West and the Dominican Republic in the East. Lynching, murdering, cutting human's parts alive, burning human's parts or bodies alive, starving to death, beating to death, torturing, beating and hard punishments. All mistreatments and crimes humans can commit on another humans, all of which used to be practiced on the Haitian slaves.

Despite all...they had been through, they didn't steal from their masters, kidnap them for ransom and nor become notorious criminals, nonetheless. Instead they fled in the wood and became maroons (rebels), and transformed into groups, in order to revolt against their masters. Throughout the revolts (revolution), there were times they went out of foods, so they obliged to ate rats, dogs, horses, cats, old leather, grass and anything they could find (James 232).

However, becoming notorious criminals and claiming that it is due to poverty and the corrupt-social system, it is as though urinating and defecating on the faces of the great Haitian heroes that fought and died to give Haiti its independence. As stated previously: calamities and inhuman treatments didn't cause the Haitian slaves becoming notorious criminals nor kidnappers for ransom.

Notorious crimes have become addictions to those criminals, in Haiti. Why? Despite they kidnap their victims and receive ransoms to secure their release, they still take their victims' money, cars, jewels and other important belongings. In the end, they beat, rape, torture and murder them, whom happen to be innocent adults and children. Thereafter, they brag with delight about their crimes.

The nature of their crimes has nothing to do with fighting against neither poverty nor a corrupt-social system. They are a bunch of satans, thugs, gangsters and barbarians that are preying on innocent children and adults, in pretending they are poor and against the corrupt-social system... Those who are against a corrupt system don't act and operate in such a manner...

In fact, crimes are committed in every country. But, in certain countries the crime rates are higher than others. Despite all crimes of kidnappings, carjackings, illegal drug traffikings and homicides that are committed in the Haitian society, Martinique, Cuba and Haiti are the lowest crime rated countries in the Caribbean and also are among the lowest crime rated countries in Americas and in the world (International Homicide Rate).

Notwithstanding Haiti's crime rate is not high, in comparing to the other countries in the region and other countries in the world, but its lowest crime rate is still taken in profound consideration, due to the way it used to be years ago, it was as though a crime-free country. Individuals used to circulate in the country without having any fear of being the victims of any sort of civil citizen on civil citizen crimes.

(From 1958 to 1971, there were politically genocidal crimes committed by the dictatorial regime, Francois Duvalier. From 1971 to 1986, under Jean Claude Duvalier's administration, the son of Francois Duvalier, political crimes continued to be committed and also it was during this period illegal drug trafficking began to emerge. And From 1986 to present, on top of the existing crimes, other crimes began to emerge, such as political gangs, kidnappings and civilian on civilian crimes.)

When a country is in a state of insecurity, it affects all social aspects inside the country. Citizens of such country live in fear, every single day; local and foreign investors are afraid to invest; international humanitarian aids are limited; and foreigners are afraid to come to visit. It is as though indirectly a form of international sanctions on such country...

Haiti can, someday, become a crime-free country again, if the government implements the national police force, investigative force, intelligence force and justice system enforces severe penalties and punishments on notorious criminals.

Clifford Brandt, the Elitist Mastermind Haitian Kidnapper and Jean Claude Duvalier, the Former Haitian Dictator, Shadowed by the Haitian Media and Justice System.

Haitians within and abroad have been asking themselves these two questions: why do the Haitian Justice and Prison Systems hide the imprisonment lifestyle of Clifford Brandt and the trial of Former President Jean Claude Duvalier, from the media's exposures? And why does the Haitian Justice System only expose to the media the arrests, trials and imprisonments of the subordinate Haitian kidnappers and poor criminals?

Well, these two questions required a clarification on how all Justice Systems in the world functioned. In all countries in the world, crime suspects and convicted criminals of highly social status, when arrested and or sentenced, are always received special treatments and their privacies retained, by the Justice and Prison Systems.

According to the New York City Defense Attorney, Ron Kuby, it is only in the United States crime suspects of highly social status are always received the same standardly humiliated treatments, when held under the authority of law as suspects or if convicted and received hard punishments, as poor and or ordinary criminals (Cited in Long and Hays).

Although the New York City Defense Attorney, Ron Kuby, reported that the United States is the only country upper class, upper middle class, middle class, working class and poor class received the same generally humiliated treatments when arrested and or sentenced, meantime, such countries as China, North Korea and Cuba also apply the same standard policies as the United States (i.e., humiliation and hard punishments) toward crime suspects and convicted criminals, regardless their social status.

Regrettably and disgracefully, corruption and empathy based on individuals' social status dominate most countries' justice systems... Therefore, if Clifford Brandt and Jean Claude Duvalier have been gotten the best treatments and retainable privacies by the Haitian Justice and Prison Systems, while being on trial or convicted, don't be amazed about that because Clifford is one of the elite and wealthy members in the Haitian society and Duvalier is a former Haitian President, with lots of money, power and connections.

The Haitian Judicial system is like a concentric circle. The big time individuals with highly social status, money and power are always the victors or privileges and the poor individuals with low social status, no money and power are always the villains, whether being innocent or guilty. E.g., when Duvalier were on trial, many Haitians thought that he were going to be convicted, if found guilty. How could this be possible? This was impossible (and will still be impossible). The Haitian Justice system would have never ruled against this man.

A second instance, Clifford Brandt imprisoned at the Haitian National Penitentiary, in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti (Peralte). Why does not the Haitian Prison System allow the media to expose him, while being imprisoned? It is said that he is imprisoned, having said that evidence of perceiving with the eyes is never shown. The media never exposes him while he is in prison. A such mastermind behind the top kidnapping gangs, showing him while being sentenced, it would have been a big relief for the relatives of the individuals who were murdered and victimized by his notorious kidnapping gangs.

The late Ti Paris, Haitian musician, poet, composer and singer, has a passage in one of his lyrics that says:

"When the wealthy Whites and or Mulattoes have farted in the manner of foolishness or aimlessness, people interpret their foolish or aimless farts as audible discharges of intestinal gases. And when the poor Blacks have farted in the manner of foolishness or aimlessness, people interpret their foolish or aimless farts as contemptible gases. When the wealthy Whites and or Mulattoes have missing front teeth, people interpret their missing front teeth as front gap teeth. And when the poor-black-skinned individuals have front gap teeth, people interpret their front gap teeth as missing front teeth. When the wealthy Whites and or Mulattoes are misbehaving socially, people say that they are having fun. And when the poor-black-skinned individuals are misbehaving socially or having fun, people criticize them by saying that they have no social manners and they are a bunch of pigs…"

Firstly, Clifford Brandt is a Haitian elitist and a mulattoe who looks like a white man. Especially when it comes to individualistic status and appearances in the Haitian society, individuals with highly social status, light-skinned and white-skinned complexions always granted certain privileges in all social aspects. Thus he will never get the same humiliated treatments and hard punishments as the poor-black-skinned convicted kidnappers and convicts for other crimes.

Secondly, Jean Claude Duvalier is a former Haitian leader who has lots of money, power and connections within and abroad. The Haitian Justice System would have never ruled agaisnt him, because there are lots of Duvalierists within the Haitian's government and also Martelly-Lamothe's administration (President Marthelly himself is a Duvalieriest, but a moderate one)... Putting Duvalier on trial was a pure demagogy, in order to demonstrate to the relatives of the innocent Haitians who were murdered, victimized and abused by the Duvalier's regimes justice was finally being done on their behalf.

Thirdly, the worst demagogy created by the Haitian Justice System was to put former President Jean Bertrand Aristide on trial. It created a tit-for-tat scenario, in order to give gratification to the Duvalier supporters, the Duvalieriests. As Duvalier was/is prosecuted, since Aristide supporters are the enemies of the Duvaliers and Duvalieriests, in consequence, Aristide must be prosecuted as well...

Putting Aristide on trial was a strategy, so as to prevent from bursting the anger and emotion of the Duvalierists, for putting Duvalier on trial. To put an individual on trial, evidence must be proven. All the crimes Aristide had/has been accused of (i.e., involving in illegal drug trade, stealing Haiti's monetary funds and being the mastermind in the killings of few political opponents), the Haitian Justice System cannot even prove one single evidence of them.

Meantime, the Haitian Justice System has the records of all the crimes, such as murdering political opponents, involving in the drug trade, selling dead human body parts, stealing Haiti's monetary funds and sabotaging Haiti's agricultural sector, Jean Claude Duvaliers had committed during his 15 years dictatorial regime, 1971-1986 (Jean Claude Duvalier). Furthermore, without counting the genocide and other crimes his father, Francois Duvalier, had committed during his regime, from 1958 to 1971.

In such a manner Duvalier's crimes are so obvious nationally and internationally, not too long after his settling in Haiti, Amnesty International (AI) published a report entitled, "You cannot Kill the Truth: The Case Against Jean Claude Duvalier." This report propelled the Haitian authority to bring Duvalier into justice for crimes against Human Rights, during his time in power (The Duvaliers).

Even CIA Factbook has no record or evidence of crimes committed by Aristide. If CIA Factbook, the world greatest intelligence organization, has no record or evidence of crimes committed by a leader, this means such accusation is accurately out of reality, whereas CIA Factbook has all evidence or record of all crimes committed by the Duvalier's regimes.

All the crimes Aristide had/has been accused of were/are the fabrications made by the administrations of the former Presidents Georges W. Bush Jr. of the United States, President Jacques Chirac of France, President Johannes Rau of Germany and Prime Minister Paul Martin of Canada and the Duvalierists to mount infamous reputations and images against him, so as to find a reason to remove him from power.

The reality is, as they say that Clifford Brandt, the elitist mastermind Haitian kidnapper, is imprisoned, if it is true, it would be as though he is on vacation inside of a place against his desire. And in the case of former President Jean Claude Duvalier, due to corruption and empathy based upon social status that exist within the Haitian Justice System, it would have never convicted him, in accord to his status, connection, wealth and power...

Poverty and Race: The Primary Factors of the Dominican Republic’s Antagonism Toward Haiti, Not Really for the 1822—1844 Occupation / Plus a Thoroughly Juxtapositional Analysis…

Some historians, scholars and writers always tend to describe the cause of the animosity the Dominican Republic has felt toward Haiti on the 22 years Haitian occupation (1822—1844). The cause of the existing animosity between these two neighboring countries, Haiti and the Dominican Republic, has a profounder root than the occupation. The main factors are poverty and race—especially race. The occupation is one of the factors, nonetheless, it is not the primary factor.

Of course, any country would never want to be occupied by another country for whatever circumstances. But sometimes, on one hand, circumstances make it unavoidable. At the time, slavery was still being practiced in the Dominican Republic—the Eastern side of the island of Hispaniola. And the Dominican Republic was not military strong and powerful to fight against its former colonizer, Spain, in order to cease slavery in its territory.  And the Western side of the island of Hispaniola, Haiti, had already gained and taken its independence.

So, as at that time Haiti was the most powerful nation militarily and economically in the Caribbean as well as most powerful black nation in the world, and shared/shares the same island (i.e., Hispaniola), with the Dominican Republic, therefore Haiti had to carry out any course of essential action to prevent a re-establishment of slavery on the entire island, particularly the western side, Haiti. This was for the main reason Haiti invaded and occupied the Dominican Republic for 22 years (i.e., 1822—1844).

Another important reason for the Haitian occupation: Haiti had always seen the Dominican Republic as a part of its territory that had been split off. This was why during the post-Haitian occupation many Haitian governments had made numerous attempts to re-annex the Eastern part, the Dominican Republic, so as to make it and Haiti became one single nation, those attempts unfortunately had never been successful….

However, according to Moya Pons, at the time the Dominican lower classes had seen egalitarian in the Haitian’s government. Therefore, due to this justification, the Dominican lower classes greeted the Haitian troops and supported the Haitian occupation 100%. The President of Haiti, Jean Pierre Boyer, during the period of possession, gave free lands to the Dominican lower classes and abolished slavery in the Dominican Republic (cited in Sagás 1994).

Some historians, furthermore, have always described, then and now, the Haitian occupation,  i.e., 1822—1844, as one of the modestly economical growth and overall steadiness in the Dominican Republic. Nevertheless, Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, the former dictator and also the most influential pioneer of the (Antihaitianismo) anti-Haitianism ideology along with other racist-nationalist Dominicans, distorted the history and versioned it as the paramount cause of all Dominicans’ calamities (Baud 2002). Although the anti-Haitianism (Antihaitianismo) ideology rooted during the period of colonization, but more likely during the period of Haitian occupation, however, Trujillo emphasized it as a national doctrine and ordered Dominican people to perpetrate it against Haitians.

In addition, during the period of post-occupation, Haiti had already lost interest in invading the Dominican Republic. So in 1861, when Pedro Santana reannexed the Dominican Republic to Spain, the Haitian authorities gave sanctuaries, securities and supplies of all sorts to the Dominican revolutionaries to fight against the Spanish until the Dominican Republic’s independence was restored in 1865 (Sagás 1994).

As stated earlier: the Haitian occupation in the Dominican Republic from 1822—1844 is not the main factor that creates hostilities between these two neighboring nations, all of these resentments and animosities the Dominican Republic feels toward Haiti, for the most part, lie on two folds: poverty and race—especially race.

E.g., If Haiti was a country of European origin and economically powerful, the Dominican Republic would not hold any resentment toward Haiti due to the occupation from the years 1822—1844. Dominican Republic finds it the norm to pridefully and respectfully accept and embrace Spain as its former colonist (and the Dominicans, then and now, admit it all the time). Why? Spain is a European country and historically was one of the most powerful colonists in the world, past centuries ago. And today, Spain is one of the most economically powerful countries in the world.

Another example: most Dominicans always want to be with Puerto Ricans and also are always ready to pridefully identify themselves as Puerto Ricans, especially the Dominican migrants that live in the United States. Again, why? Puerto Rico is a United States’ territory and most Puerto Ricans’ features are close to European’s features.

Racially and ethnically, the Dominican people are mixtures of Spanish (of Spain), African and Indian, the Natives (Taino/s) —but mostly Spanish and African because most of the native Indians were already exterminated by the colonists during slavery society in less than a century, thereafter substituted by the Africans— Therefore, based upon the mixtures of these three races, this is why there is a seemingly endless variety featured Dominicans. There are cassatra Dominicans (people who resemble White/European), Marabou Dominicans (people who resemble South East Asian Indian types and the Native Indians—Taino types), brown, mulatto and black Dominicans and so on… However, the majority Dominicans are mulattoes. Mulatto Dominicans make up about 77% of the population.

All of these mixtures of skinned complexions create a color wheel classification and a pseudo-race in the Dominican society. Most Dominicans embrace European’s influences and reject their African roots. If most Dominicans could declare themselves as members of the white race, they would do so. Since apparently it is impossible to do, it is as though they oblige to create their own race, from which has nothing to do with any African links. The mulatto and black Dominicans don’t want to be identified or identify themselves as mulatto or black Dominicans.

The reason to these ancestral refusals, most Dominicans find blackness is authentic African or African descent and mulatto has a link to African descent—a mixture of Black and White. So, anything that links to the black race or African background that mulatto, dark and black Dominicans are related to or identified with, they deny and reject it. This is to say, they have nothing to do with the black race or African background.

Due to this terminological concept, the mulatto, dark and black Dominicans are always searching for a racial identity to fit themselves—of course not the black race. As Depestre argues, in such a manner most mulatto, dark and black Dominicans despise their African background and refuse to identify themselves with it, they prefer to be identified or identify themselves as Indio rather than African-Dominicans or black Dominicans. This means, Haitians are black, but Dominicans are not black (cited in Sagás 1994).

Since the word Indio is officially institutionalized in the Dominican society as a racial category, most Dominicans (i.e., black, dark and mulatto) are classified as Indio/s. It is only a few Dominicans who are identified as black or African Dominicans due to the term’s deprecatory insinuation and those with darker skinned complexion fall in the category Moreno (Sagás 2006). In fact, all these negations of African descents and the invention of categorically pseudo races in the Dominican society are due to a rejection and detachment from the black race.

It is from this ideology of racism, i.e., hatred the black race and Haitians as members of the black race, that caused, in 1937, the former dictator of the Dominican Republic, Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, massacred cold-bloodedly more than 25,000 innocent Haitians. It was clearly evident that such slaughter was purely based upon race matter (and President Trujillo himself had always admitted that he was a racist). This slaughter was to prevent the Dominican population from being Africanized. To support his demonic act after the slaughter, he banned black immigrants, especially Haitians, to prevent them from coming into the Dominican Republic and encouraged Asians, white Americans and Europeans to come to live in the Dominican Republic just to mate with Dominican men and women in order to breed Dominican light skins and features close to that of European.

A Thoroughly Juxtapositional Analysis

Nevertheless, a thorough analysis on racism and racial stereotypes in the Dominican Republic need to be contrastingly discussed in a similar scheme term. The Dominican Republic is worldwide known as a racist country.  Lots of scholars, historians and writers always tend to focus and stress the most on the racism and racial stereotypes that exist inside the Dominican Republic and tactfully address (or even ignore) the same problems of racism and racial stereotypes that obscurely exist in all former colonial countries. Haiti is one of the examples.

While most Dominicans hate the black race, refuse to embrace their African’s background and prefer to be identified or identify themselves as Indio (those with darker skin Moreno), meantime most mulatto and black-skinned Haitians seemingly embrace their African background. Nonetheless, in the core of that embracement there are a negation and an aversion to blackness—black-skinned color. Most mulatto Haitians think their light-skinned color makes them superior to the black-skinned Haitians. And most black-skinned Haitians always have the envy to be in the circles of light-skinned or mulatto Haitians, or to be with light-skinned or mulatto lovers, or marry light-skinned or mulatto lovers in order to breed light-skinned or marabou children (this skinned-colored stereotype is based upon a mentality, i.e., black skin is a curse).

For instances, there are lots of beautifully blue-collar, professional and highly professional mulatto, dark-skinned and black-skinned Haitian women who would rather choose Dominican men, regardless their social status, over authentically educated African men and African-Haitian men. Why? These particular Haitian women would find those Dominican men attractive due to their light-skinned complexion and meantime find those authentically educated African men and African-Haitian men unattractive (ugly).

The same tenets go as well to certain Haitian men. There are lots of blue-collar, professional and highly professional mulatto, dark-skinned and black-skinned Haitian men that have been spending a lot of money on Dominican women, regardless the status of these women. Why? Because these women are light-skinned complexion or feature close to the white race, thereby those particular Haitian men find these Dominican women attractive. Meantime, more likely, these Haitian men would neither spend money on native African women and African-Haitian women nor find native African women and African-Haitian women attractive, due to their black-skinned complexion (true love is colorless, as the proverb says: love is blind. It matters when it is not based upon content of character, rather skinned color stereotypes). Mr. Steele (1990: 43) argues that, ‘beside race problems that exist, black skinned folks are stereotyped the most more than any other skinned colors in America, if it is not in the whole world.’

However, the difference between the Dominican Republic with the rest of the former colonial countries in the world is that racism and racial stereotypes emphatically pervade the Dominican Society. To hate, to classify and to denigrate the black race are being culturally taught in every social aspect, from generation to generation. Therefore, to hate blackness it is something that is embedded in the mind of most Dominicans (Sagás 2006). Certainly, it is not going to be easy to convert a long time corrupt ideology into rationality. David Howard reports, there are even some Dominicans that claim their African roots and also sympathize with the poor Haitian sugarcane cutters-workers (Batayes) that have been inhumanly treated in the Dominican Republic; as a result, most racist Dominicans see these particular Dominican sympathizers as traitors (cited in Baud 2002).

This is truly where the unlikeness of the Dominican Republic’s genres of practicing racism and racial stereotypes stands when comparing it with the rest of the former colonial countries. The Dominicans stress without prevarication on their ideology anti-Haitians and anti-blackness (African descent), whereas in the rest of the former colonial countries (and Haiti) anti-blackness obscurely exists and people evasively perpetrate it. Therefore, in a sense, in reality within the countries where pseudo-race and racial stereotype problems obscurely exist, these problems are more subtle and complex to resolve….

Today, some members of the new Haitian and Dominican generations are heading toward a pragmatic approach about the Haitian and Dominican relations. They are more active in engaging in activism and coalition organizations, such as Dominican Coalition of Solidarity with the Haitian Community in New York City, The Haitian League, Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees in Brooklyn and Fundacion Zile in the Dominican Republic and many more….

The main objective of these organizations is to put an end in the existing antagonism between Haiti and the Dominican Republic and also to combat the unjust, violence, human’s right violations and inhuman treatments the Haitian migrants are experiencing in the Dominican Republic. They organize meetings, where Dominicans interact with Haitians; and from time to time they organize fund raising activities and the profits are donated to humanitarian aids in order to help the poor Haitians and Dominicans, especially the poor Haitians. This is a very optimistic sign because previous Dominican generations were far beyond to such approach of pragmatism.

For instance, the 1996 Presidential Campaign in the Dominican Republic, between the populist, José Francisco Peña Gómez and the extreme conservative, Leonel Fernández, demonstrated a very good sign of how the new Dominican generation was / is orienting towards pragmatism. Mr. Gómez was an African-Dominican ([with supposed a Haitian ancestry…]). Despite the racist conservative Joaquín Balaguer, a veritable follower of Trujillo, an exaggerative nationalist, a former President of the Dominican Republic and also a genuine supporter of Leonel Fernández, had launched a series of dirty and nasty ads based upon racial stereotypes and anti-Haitian propaganda against Gómez on television, radio and in anonymous flyers, on the election day, almost half of Dominican people voted for Peña Gómez—46%. And the elected President, Leonel Fernández, more likely by fraud and adroit manipulation, won 51.25% of the votes. Almost 55% of Dominicans saw black-skinned color was (is) a problem. This is why they didn’t vote for José Francisco Peña Gómez (Baud 2002).

Although on one hand the 1996 Presidential Campaign in the Dominican Republic depicted some sign of progress on anti-Haitian and anti-blackness (anti-African descent) ideology, on the other hand, racism and racial stereotypes are still at large in the Dominican society. To this day, most Dominicans still see and believe that the black race and Haitians, as members of the black race, are inferior to them.

Clearly, antihaitianismo is far from over. New generations of Dominican intellectuals keep it alive by reproducing the same old myths and prejudiced arguments in slightly altered forms (Sagás 2006).

In consequence, it is very subtle so as to make Haiti and the Dominican Republic establish successfully diplomatic, politic and racial relations, since the antagonism most Dominicans feel toward Haitians lies on poverty and race—for the most part on race. And when it comes to racism and skinned-colored stereotypes that exist in the human race, thereby diplomacy, hypocrisy and politics have always been the major factors in humans’ race relations. And this is the most challenging and worst frontier of racism.

David Howard, in his hypothesis on Dominican Anti-Haitian Ideology, he finds that anti-Haitian ideology is embedded in Dominican racial identity. He observes, in the United States, many Dominican migrants are racially identified as Black and establish a more Afrocentric racial identity. Nevertheless, he finds that when those Dominican migrants return back to the Dominican Republic, they re-adopt and re-claim the same old-pseudo-racial identity bias. Also, he finds that the Dominican New Yorkers tend to use Spanish skills to distance themselves from African Americans. He adds: As many Dominicans in the U.S. are identified as Blacks, so this racial identification propels them to embrace black American hip-hop culture. However, by embracing African American hip-hop culture does not necessarily mean their negative ideas about blackness and own pseudo-racial identity have changed (cited in Tavernier 2001 and Journal of the Research Group on Socialism and Democracy 2011).

Having been discussed previously: in the realm of racism, hypocrisy and opportunism are the biggest challenges. Some racists tend to get alone well with black-skinned people under social circumstances. Meaning, when they are enduring the same hardship as most black-skinned people accustomed to, thereby circumstances of life make those racists get alone well superficially with black-skinned people; but, this does not mean their negative mind concepts about the black race are faded. Therefore, whenever opportunities luckily come forth to those racists, the racial gap between them and black people is reinstated.

E.g., during the period of the Haitian Revolution (at the time the entire island of Hispaniola was not yet divided between Haiti and the Dominican Republic), the Eastern part, which is now the Dominican Republic, had always allied with the Western part, which is now Haiti, in order to fight against their colonists. Once thereafter a retreat was made from either the colonists or the aggressors, the Eastern part distanced itself from the Western part.

Moreover, there was even a division among the slaves in the Western side. And this division was based upon a superior-skinned color ideology. In the South of the Western side, the majority of the slaves were mulattoes and light skins. The light-skinned slaves believed they were superior to the black-skinned slaves. As a result of this tenet, they could not  subordinate to the high-ranking-black-skinned slaves nor their slave leader, Toussaint L’Ouverture.

As Toussaint L’Ouverture, the pioneer of the Haitian Revolution, had always said, ‘it is always the Blacks [black skins…] who suffer the most’ (cited in James 1963: 152). E.g., Most of the black-skinned Haitians are the ones who live in dense poverty. Light-skinned Haitians and Haitians with complexion close to European features gain more privilege in all aspects in the Haitian society. In addition, most of the time, the light-skinned, mulatto and cassatra Haitians have always been the monopolies of the Haiti’s national economy. And in the political spectrum, they are always huge supporters of the bogus governments, politicians and leaders.

On one hand, not only the most light-skinned, mulatto and cassatra Haitians that have always been great supporters of undemocratic governments in Haiti, on the other hand, also all Dominican governments, from then and now. Dominican Republic has always seen Haiti as a threat, despite the densely existing poverty and political instability that exist within Haiti. Thereby, Dominican Republic is one of the countries that has always played a role to keep the government of Haiti in subordination. The more Haiti is preoccupied by unstable governments, political instabilities and dense poverty, the more secure Dominican Republic feels, in terms of national interests and more superior to Haiti in all social aspects.

Badly unstable governments, politics and the abandonment and isolation of imperial capitalism on Haiti are the causes of its dense poverty. Historically, Haiti has been abandoned and isolated by most countries in the world. Some countries have begun to bring attention and seemingly give humanitarian aids to Haiti during the period of post earthquake. Before that most countries in the world had ignored and abandoned Haiti. And all of those countries had had a profound awareness about this old-existing poverty in Haiti. Why do those countries wait for so long to help a nation that is dying due to dense poverty? This is what the so-called diplomacy, politics and hypocrisy.

And poverty is the primary factor that drives mass of Haitians to cross the Dominican border to seek for a better life in the Dominican Republic. If the national economy of Haiti were at least at the level of that of Dominican Republic, those particular Haitians (i.e., border line crossers to the Dominican Republic) would never cross the border to migrate in order to do job cutting sugarcane, most Dominicans will not do, along with daily degradation, humiliation, violence, violation of human rights and slave-like treatments under the hands of Dominicans.

Emphatically, sugarcane is the primary-national product of the Dominican Republic. Therefore, the exportation of the sugarcane to the United States, few Asian countries and some European countries is where the Dominican Republic’s domestic economy relies upon. And the sugarcane cutters (employees) are the Haitian migrants that represent 90% of this labor force.  Because most Dominicans despise this type of job, they choose not to do it. Thereby, in a way, those Haitian migrants have their importance in the Dominican society. They should have been treated with decencies, not like slaves of the past slavery society.

Therefore, if today Haiti is among one of the poorest nations in the world and Dominicans have been culturally and racially discriminating against Haitians that live in Haiti and in the Dominican Republic, this is due to isolation and weight of the world imperial capitalism on Haiti and also to greedy, selfish, unpatriotic and wicked Haitians.

So this is why apparently to these particular Haitians mentioned above, the anti-Haitianism (anti-blackness and anti-African descent) doctrine in the Dominican society is a fiction to them. They don’t show any sympathies at all regarding to what Haitian migrants have been going through in the Dominican Republic. They go on vacation there all the times to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars. Some big time Haitian entrepreneurs (millionaires and multi-millionaires) even invest hundreds of thousands of dollars or millions of dollars in the Dominican Republic.

To these particular Haitians, they don’t realize if they are contributing to the Dominican Republic’s economic growth, by going on vacation to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars there or investing hundreds of thousands of dollars or millions of dollars in it. Meanwhile, over 1 million of their compatriot Haitians are experienced all kind of inhuman treatments, such as racial prejudice, racial discrimination, physical violence, violation on their human rights and live an old-time-slave-like-style in the Dominican Republic.

As stated earlier: racism and racial stereotypes don’t exist only in the Dominican Republic, they also exist in whichever society and periodical time humans interact in this world. E.g., even in the biblical history blackness is portrayed as a symbol of badness, in writable and visual terms. In the 12 Apostles of Jesus the Christ, Judas Iscariot, the only black Apostle among them, is portrayed and known as the one who betrayed Jesus to the Jews. This human made’s infamous story-image is purely based upon racism and skinned-colored stereotypes.

Certainly, racism and racial stereotypes don't derive by nature, but are rather culturally and environmentally learning process that derive from humans’ power for supremacy, greed and ignorance. Racism is what causes, for the most part, poverty, turmoils and wars within this world. If humans could engulf ignorance and apply wisdom in their lives so as to acknowledge the essence and destiny of humans, humans could have lived with openheartedness in this world.

Racial categories and skinned-colored classifications are the labels institutionalized by humans in order to justify the superiority of one’s race over the other and superiority of one’s skinned color over the other. In reality, before the law of nature, under the skin all humans are equal. This is why all humans breathe the same air, share the same happiness, feel pains the same way, shed tears for the same causes, share the same hatred, share the same sadness and share the same destiny….

After all, with the time, there’s nothing that says progressive change is impossible to make... As old generation Dominican/s with corruptive beliefs, thoughts and ideologies is being gone, new one/s will be emerged with rational beliefs, thoughts and ideologies. If old and young Dominicans put aside these corrupt ideologies (i.e., anti-Haitianism, Antihaitianismo, anti-blackness and anti-African descent) that had/has been implanted into their minds for so long and rationally recollect, without distortions, the essence and destiny of humans, a past history of how Haiti and the Dominican Republic share and find themselves on the same island of Hispaniola, maybe one day Haitians and Dominicans might live with openheartedness...
